According to Ainsley #13 - Rapunzel is the New Ainsley

At the pool, a little girl about 4 says to Ainsley "My name is Meg, what's your name?"
Ainsley responds, "Rapunzel."
I jump in, "No, what's your real name?"
"Rapunzel," she answers matter of factly.

Little Meg looks at me very confused.
"Her name is Ainsley," I say.
"NO IT'S NOT!" Ainsley yells and looks back at Meg, "My name is Rapunzel and this is my friend Flynn." Ainsley points to the empty side of the baby pool.  Meg went to find her parents.

At the grocery store, an older woman is behind me in line.
"Oh your children are precious," she says.
"Thank you," I answer.
"And what is your name little girl?" she asks Ainsley.
"Rapunzel," Ainsley answers.
"Tell her your real name," I say to Ainsley.
Ainsley looks at me, then at the woman "Rapunzel."
The woman chuckles uncomfortably as I say "Her name is Ainsley."

At the mall, in the children's play area I am sitting next to a mother of a little girl about Ainsley's age.
Ainsley runs over to tell me about what Flynn just did.
The little girl asks "What's your name?" to Ainsley.
"Rapunzel," she answers sweetly.
The mother looks at me, "Is her name really Rapunzel."
"No, it's Ainsley," I respond.
Cue eye roll from Ainsley, "No, my old name is Ainsley, but now I have long hair and my name is Rapunzel."
"Well that's nice," says the other mother, "Rapunzel, meet Ava...I mean, Ariel."
Now looking at me, she says "Aren't you glad you worried and stressed over the perfect name just to have it replaced by some dumb Disney movie?"
Exactly!

I'm linking up with Rebecca over at Musings of a Manic Mama on Friday.  Go check out her blog...

According to Ainsley #5 - I Can't Believe I Did This!

"Ainsley it's bed time, pick up your blocks please," Clif instructs while flipping through the channels.

"Not yet," Ainsley answers.  This is one of her favorite answers these days.

"Yes Ainsley, it's time to go to bed."

"I said, not yet."

Clif looks at me like can you help please? But I am very busy stalking Twitter and commenting on blog posts.  So I half-heartedly say, "Ainsley pick up your blocks."

"Mommy, I can't do it.  I am too small."

This catches my attention.

"Ainsley do it now, or I'll throw your toys away instead of allowing you to clean them up."  I am all tough and straight to the point when I am engrossed in the laptop.

"Ohhhkaaaay" She sighs.

And then she begins singing under her breath.  I can't really make out her words, but it's something about cleaning the blocks.

Then...

"I CAN'T BELIEVE I DID THIS!!!"

I stop typing and listen.

"I put the wrong thing in there.  That does not go there.  I can't believe I did this..." She stops and realizes what she's said.  See my daughter?  Has a super huge ridiculous small obsession with the movie Tangled.  And in this movie, Rapunzel escapes her tower and the first thing she says is "I can't believe I did this!  I CAN'T BELIEVE I DID THIS!"

Immediatly, she is done cleaning and launches herself into the character of Rapunzel.  She is now in the zone.  Going through the lines that follow, complete with movement and expression.

Seriously?  Need to get this child an agent.

Was the Easter Bunny Good to You?

Even though Easter was late this year, it still kind of snuck up on me.  I was not at all prepared.  However, I was determined to color Easter eggs this year.  I hadn't done it since I was a kid and I figured Ainsley was old enough to enjoy it.

We had planned on doing them Wednesday or Thursday.  Wednesday something came up and Thursday...well, our dogs managed to escape so we spent a good part of the night searching for them.  No worries, everyone is home safe and sound.

So, Friday night...we colored Easter eggs.

But not just any Easter eggs.  Tinkerbell eggs!

Sunday morning was the big day!  Here are the baskets before the kids arrived...so pretty, for such a short time.

Then the children arrived and the chaos ensued...

Ainsley also found all of the eggs that the sneaky bunny had hidden...

After the morning excitement and a much too short nap on Freddie's part, we met Nanny and Poppa for lunch, dressed in our Easter best.

Later in the day we went to a friend's house for another Easter egg hunt...which I did not pull my camera out for.  I think Clif got some pics on his iPhone, but currently I don't have them.

I will, however, leave you with these pictures.  I'm thinking of getting her an agent since this was her "movie box picture" pose.

Then this is Ainsley Rapunzel getting ready to fight Flynn with her frying pan.

And here she is wrapping her magic hair around Flynn's wounded hand.

So yeah, I'm thinking we have a star in the making.
